Hi, I am Amanda Nicole, the owner of Long Island Voice Lessons. I grew up on Long Island in New York and recently moved with my family to St Johns, Florida. I studied Musical Theatre at SUNY Fredonia for my Bachelors in Fine Arts and then went on to earn a Masters in Vocal Performance with an Opera concentration at Binghamton University. As part of my responsibility to you as your teacher, I attend voice conferences, training programs and classes each year to stay current on the latest research within the voice and performing community. I am deeply fascinated with the interaction between the voice and the rest of the body. In addition to my traditional acting training, I have taken classes in Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, and am am active Yoga practitioner.
I am a member of NATS, NYSTA, NAfME, The Voice Foundation, and am Certified in Somatic Voicework™, The LoVetri Method. On addition to my private vocal studio in NY, I was on the voice faculty for the musical theatre program at LIU C.W. Post from 2015-2024 and served on faculty at the LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework™, held at Baldwin Wallace University from 2018-2023.
I am an active performer. I was the female vocalist for Rock Island Sound, an Long Island based rock cover band, performed regularly as an acoustic soloist at restaurants and breweries singing covers with my ukulele, and sang with an 18 piece big band for several years. I also performed in various benefit concerts/cabarets, and with local theatres both on Long Island and in Manhattan. Some of my favorite roles include Lucille (Parade), Despina (Cosi fan tutti), Nancy (Oliver!), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Josephine (H.M.S. Pinafore), Anne (A Little Night Music), Beth (Little Women), Alice (Addam’s Family), Latitia (The Old Maid and the Thief), Poppea (L’incoronazione di Poppea), and Fire Cover (L’enfant et les sortilege).
Other Fun Facts. I am a mom to a wonderful and happy baby boy named Ryan. Our family loves animals, and has three dogs; two Portuguese Water dogs, Charlie Waffles and Lila, and a super sweet little rescue named Gracie. I have a side hobby of dog training and have spent a lot of time training my first dog, Charlie Waffles. I am always reading at least three books - a story, a self help/spiritual book and one on vocal anatomy. I love being outdoors and enjoy hiking, bike rides, gardening, the beach and our pool.
